Remember, this is during a time that men would ask to court young women before they could be seen with them. Secret passion between the two ignites and soon they are sneaking around so they will not be discovered. Soon a hidden relationship begins, a real love is discovered and then this is where things heat up. They try, at first, to deny their interest in one another. Remember there are always more than one side of the story and although we got a great story from Washington Irving, this story was just as captivating. I loved hearing Katrina’s side of this tale. In the spirit of Halloween and one of my favorite stories as a young child, I was gifted a special book to read.
